Changes for SuperGold public transport faresPosted to Financial Capability on 02-06-2016
The Ministry of Transport is making changes to the SuperGold card that will affect the public transport concession from July 1, with the introduction of a special gold AT HOP card.
SuperGold cardholders without a HOP card will need to purchase one.
SuperGold cardholders with a blue HOP card can continue to use these HOP cards, and will be able to exchange these for a gold HOP card free of charge after July 1.
There will be a discretionary transition period during July where bus, ferry and train staff will show discretion to non-AT HOP cardholders seeking free SuperGold travel.
The national SuperGold public transport scheme provides free public transport travel within specified times.
