To mark NZ Music Month in May we took our “Tales from the tent” to the NZ Music Symposium, hosted by Zeal NZ in Auckland.
The event was aimed at young musicians who are looking at their next steps in the music industry, designed to inspire them and equip them with the tools and knowledge to help them progress.
As one band told us: “While it’s good to have goals and dreams and aspirations, sometimes you have to take those little steps in order to get there.”
We wanted to find out how many were including financial planning in their little steps, but we started by asking whether they reckoned people or songs lived longer.
Then we asked their thoughts on how to make their money last just as long.
